Steve. I think something's wrong with Sam.
He isn't replying to my messages. We talk every day. I thought he was just busy on his trip. He's not gone. I feel him.
I still feel him. But he's not.
What if he's? If he's? Hurt? In danger.
Steve. Do you know where he is? What can I do?
It's Peter birthday.
Steve?
Steve, are you okay?
WE'VE GOT A LOCATION[ because they've been keeping each other as up-to-date as possible, but with everything, communication has been sparse the last couple of days. enough so that sam's been worried, but hasn't wanted to press it. but this - this gives him a direction, something to work with. ]
WORKING OUT HOW TO GET THROUGH ITS DEFENSES
BUT WE'RE COMING TO GET Y'ALL
WHAT'S YOUR STATUS? HOW'S EVERYONE DOING?
TALK TO ME, STEVE
O Captain! My Captain!
I’m sure you’ve heard that one quite a lot, or consider me terribly wrong in what I've heard about you with my boldness imparted. It has been a couple months now. I should confess that I got a glimpse of what could have been a star-spangled shield when we were interconnected. It may me wonder. It had not been my intention to take. I will not ask, unless you wish to tell me on your own free will. In displays of heightened offerings, some have reached for memories. It was a mere glance, I promise. I am fully aware what a vampire’s sensuality can arise, but I'll preserve modesty. I wanted to formally thank you, and perhaps even if I let the ink sink into the pages a thousand times over, it may never truly be enough parchment to display my gratitude. Not everyone would offer their blood up to a vampire. I’ll let you in on a little insight of my past, since it’s only fair considering I know what your blood tastes like.
I once owned a club in my prime days, but it didn’t last but a mere seven years. The big war had come, and it had been only the first. We thought it would be the only one. Truthfully, I wish it had been the war that ended it. Unfortunately, it had been rather skin deep in those days for me. Regardless, I preserve what those days brought, and with it is a piece of Storyville. You’ll find a green gated door leading into a courtyard, where it’ll be what my home once was. Sometimes, all we want to be is a little alive. I intend this for the ones who’d been taken. It is an experience indescribable, but it is in us. I would like to honor we did make it out where the center of a celebration isn't a gala for an execution. However, I would respect if you wish to leave it be.
I am hosting a gathering at my domain on May 24th in the evening. I want to personally invite you to attend, but if you don’t wish to, then I wholeheartedly offer an invitation for the future if you ever want to drop by. I admit I find myself wanting to know more of you, Steve. If not here, then at some point allow me to properly say thank you while we are both back to our full health. I do hope you have found your strength once again.
Best Regards,
Louis de Pointe du Lac
It took me a while to get back to this, with everything that's been happening. A while back I headed back to where we had found the mechanical lizard, and I found another one. Dead. But with more metal parts.
I figured I could just bring it back to life.
And use my magic to figure out its place of origin. It had been experimented on — a lot, Steve, and in a lab environment... in a cave. It wasn't anything like what you'd find in Solvunn. My take is that whoever was conducting these experiments, it was somewhere near the borders of Solvunn. The Badlands, the Free Cities. But I also don't know that any of these experiments were bad in nature.
That goes beyond what I could see.
By the way, I gave all this information to Altaïr and Hilda already, so you might want to check in with them. I don't know if they'll follow-up on this.
Happy Winter Solstice.

With a few improvements of course. Namely that instead of just smiling, Sam's face is winking.
