Steve should have realized that Wanda of all people would have picked up on Sam's absence. Not that he'd known they talked quite that often, but Wanda also has a certain way of sensing these things.
At least he's here to answer her questions, as he watches the panicked red writing cover the walls of Sam's sick room. ]
Wanda, sorry I haven't been in touch yet. It's been a little crazy here. Sam's back in Cadens, but something happened while he was out there. He's stable, but he hasn't woken up yet. I'm here with him, don't worry.
[ Can he guarantee that Sam will wake up, and that when he does, that he'll be okay? No. But at least he can give her some sort of assurance. ]
I don't have the full story. We won't have it until Sam's awake, but it started with the nightmares. The person he was traveling with woke up from one, but instead of just a few scratches, he was badly injured. Sam did something to heal him, we aren't sure what, and then he passed out.
[ Steve's learned by now that the Summoned can be gifted with abilities by the Singularity on top of actively studying magic. Sam must have used some sort of power that the Singularity gave him to heal Geralt. It's the only thing that makes sense. ]
[while that sounds exactly like something sam would do without skipping a beat, wanda can't help but feel that it was irresponsible of everyone involved. but the details are not all there, and she can't judge the entirety of the situation from where she stands.
she hates, in this moment, that where she stands is so far away from everyone.]
[ Steve is also eager for more of the details, but the damage is already done and he knows that he's the last person who can take the high ground and deliver a lecture about something like this. Really, all he wants right now is for Sam to wake up. ]

[the idea alone that sam was injured sufficiently, in whatever shape or form, to have him bedridden and unconscious is cause for concern.
there is nothing she can do from solvunn, and steve is there with him. that offers some amount of comfort, at least.]

Of course. I don't plan on going anywhere.

[because he will wake up, and though her magic isn't entirely whole here, she can throw a little probability manipulation into the fold.]

[ Both of them are just going to manifest this, because no other option is acceptable. ]
And all right, I'll make sure to pass that along. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before he's up.
